Added 2024-06-05 18:09:07 +0000 UTCLast week, I told you about the town of Bountiful Hills and how you would be creating a character to explore this odd settlement in How the Breast Was Won. This week, I'd like to tease two of the four possible character backgrounds.
But first, what is the point of the backgrounds?
After you name your character, you'll need to choose a background. This background will determine your character's reasons for coming to Bountiful Hills, as well as provide a few extra benefits. Namely, your background will give you a boost to one of your four stats (more on those in a future teaser) and a single item that you will have from the beginning of the game.
But what are these backgrounds?
Let's start with two of the four options: The Outlaw and the Journalist.
If you decide to be an Outlaw, your character is heading to Bountiful Hills as a way to lay low from the law. You've done some bad things, and you want to take the heat off.
An Outlaw will get a boost to her Marksmanship stat and will start the game with a Revolver (though she's all out of ammunition).
If you choose the Journalist background, your character is determined to get to the bottom of all the odd rumors coming out of Bountiful Hills. You only want the truth.
A Journalist will get a boost to her Wits stat and will start the game with a Lantern (handy for exploring in the dark).
