New Features!

RPDB just received a big update! Here's a rundown of what changed.

New Features for Tier 2:
- Choose the Poster (different poster choices)

New Features for Tier 3:
- Textless Posters (where available)
- Custom Poster based on Image URL
- Custom Labels on Posters (set at the top of the poster)

New Plugins:

(to not forget that there was already a Plex plugin also)

RPDB Folders App New Features:
- a button to check current requests for the month
- a new button called "Edit Movie / Series Poster"
- ability to search for movie / series in order to edit the posters
- a button to "Choose Poster" (Tier 2+, available under the Edit Poster menu) that allows choosing from numerous posters (and also has a language select option)
- a button to set "Custom Poster" (Tier 3+, available under the Edit Poster menu) that allows setting the poster of your own choice by pasting an image URL
- a new setting to "Prefer Textless Poster"
- extended scan settings (choose poster overwrite frequency, force a manual overwrite scan)
- Labels for Media Folders (Tier 3+, example usage: if you have a separate folder for 4K movies, you can now set the "4K" label for this folder and it will add a "4K" label to the top of all posters from that folder)
- notification for updates

It should be noted that while plugins offer an alternative at integrating RPDB with your setup, you will always get the most out of this service by using the RPDB Folders app, which offers more flexibility with extended settings and features.

The plugins (as opposed to RPDB Folders) currently only support: changing the poster type (what ratings are shown on the posters), backdrops and a choice to prefer textless posters.

All users are recommended to update the RPDB Folders app and/or plugins in order to take advantage of the new features.

As of today, there are also one-time payment options for Lifetime Tier 2 and Lifetime Tier 3!

As a gift to all those that joined RPDB until now, I am giving double the requests for this month (April 2021). The request count for all your API Keys will be reset to zero on the 17th of April!

What's next?

I have been discussing with many users and planning the future of RPDB, so here is a list of some of the more important things that I would like to add soon:
- Support for movies without their own dedicated folders in RPDB Folders
- Change the default posters to use TMDB instead of IMDB (some have expressed that they would prefer TMDB's posters as the default)
- Anime posters with ratings! (ratings from MAL, Kitsu, AniList)
- Improve on the Emby and Jellyfin plugins (these are still very new now and would need some more attention)
