[Assets] NPR Shader Sets - Screenspace Magic PART 2 - August 2025

It’s our 9th month of the Year of Assets! We’re excited to bring you Screen Space Magic part 2, featuring Customize Normals, Pixelate, Half Lambert, Sobel Filter, and Water. Like last time, all of these effects can be applied to any material! This was created for NPRO, so you’ll need the NPR prototype installed in order to use these effects.

ALSO! In the next month or so, we'll be adding some NEW perks to the Patreon! Some exciting announcements will be coming up very soon :D

Customize Normals

This may look like a stretched sphere, but this is actually a circle that is laying flat on the ground with a custom normal! It can interact with lights just like any other object.

Pixelate

Once again thanks to the Image Sample node, we can put the pixelate filter on any material!

Half Lambert

With the introduction of For Each Light, you can now customize how the lights interact with your object. This is one example that is used throughout our NPRO project.

Sobel Filter

The sobel filter can detect color differences in neighboring pixels allowing us to put lineart in places we couldn't before like shadow terminators.

Water

This water effect is made with just a flat plane placed on top of other objects. There is no volume involved.

You can download the file with all of these shaders here! Enjoy! Keep in mind that you'll need the NPR Prototype to open these files!! If it's not available in the link, I've attached a build of it below!

Comments

Is there a manual of sorts I can read about all the features you've added so far to the NPR prototype? I wanna know what new nodes or settings were added so I can play around with it properly without scrambling around to figure out how to use it :O Can't believe it's been almost a YEAR! Y'all said it might take a year or two to integrate these features, so I'm super excited to see where 2026 will lead us. Thank you so much for your awesome work <3
