[Goo Engine] 4.1.1 UPDATE - Mac M1/M2 and Half Lambert

It's finally here!! Goo Engine is difficult to build on Mac since very few of our studio members have Macs avaiable for us to build on to test. However, through much hard work and perseverance, we finally got an M1/M2 build for Goo Engine that works!

Updates:

[Goo Engine] 4.1.1 UPDATE - Mac M1/M2 and Half Lambert

Comments

Can't download on Mac running M4 as it states like others have said "blender is damaged"

Alan C. Cabral

I'm still having trouble getting GooEngine to run on my M2. Does anyone have a step by step, video or documentation to fix this? Getting the "Blender is Damaged" message

Jonathan Main

I’m currently using Macs with M3 and M4 chips, and it seems the update hasn’t reached us yet. I’m eager to start working, but I’m unable to proceed due to compatibility issues. Do you have any estimated timeline for when the update will support Mac M3/M4 devices?

SAEED MOHAMMAD AMANI

every time I download it says file broken something might wrong with mine

Stephon Broxton Jr

The Screen Space "Scene Color" output is broken for me. Depth works fine, but color appears as solid black regardless of what I change. I'm on windows

Night Shiner Studio

Hi Mr. DillonGoo. Thank you for this awesome update ❤️ I was wondering if you might have a Linux version of Goo Engine. I know you got a LOT of work on your plate but with all the shit that Microsoft's been doing with their stupid AI and data harvesting a lot of users are switching over to Linux, my self included, so it would be nice to have a Linux version. Still, thank you for all your hard work!!!

Incredibly excited about this! Been looking forward to it ever since I ran into y'all at the Blender conference. P.S. If you ever want help testing on Mac in the future, I'd be delighted to help out.

Apple Silicon is Apple Silicon. You should be good to go!

Dirk Tiede

That worked! Beyond me how you figured that out. Thank you!

David Fanto

I got it working with this comand: xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Blender.app

Matej Stasko

On my M1 Max, I keep getting the same message as well, even though I changed my setting to allow apps to be opened from any where.

David Fanto

M3 MAX "Blender" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash. :(

Matej Stasko

Give it a go! Let us know how it goes and if it doesn't work we'll look into it!

Dillon Goo

Surely not limited to M1/M2, right? Just traded my M1 in for a M4 Max
