Indiana Pacers Player Review: Myles Turner

Talking into a microphone about the basketball played by the Indiana Pacers

By: Caitlin Cooper I @C2_Cooper

It's time for another solo episode! After reviewing the season for the young wing-ish players on the roster, Tony East and I reconvened on the Locked on Pacers YouTube channel to discuss the career season of Myles Turner. Turner was Tony's assignment, so I'm mostly just there to react and respond to the one play, one number, and one over/under that he selected to best summarize what turned out to be a big year from the longest tenured Pacer who played bigger than ever.

As always, to make it easier to follow along with the video, here's the stats, lines, and clips -- albeit with limited context to avoid spoilers.

One Play: attacking switches

One Number: 130 -- shooting fouls drawn

One Over/Under: 0.9 -- point per post touch

I don't think rebuilding is over regardless. I have high hopes that the draft gives us our eventual starting 4, but I'd start Nwora and give the draftee time to earn the job. The one caveat is Nwora is a scorer and we may choose to start a defender.

I think if Nwora is the starting four that would be indicative of striking out on a number of fronts and would likely point toward another year of rebuilding.

By the time Nwora joined the team, Myles was resting. Does he fit the pattern of the 4 that you think we need playing with Myles? I have him penciled in as the starting 4 with a rookie backing him up, but if you don't think he fits the need, I see potential draftees that do.
