I'm glad you mentioned the script that you posted because I wanted to read that and comment (if I have anything to say) but my ADHD brain forgot about it. In The Left Hand of Darkness, weren't the aliens gender fluid? I read it decades ago, so I don't remember it very well. I thought they switched from male to female. Or did they have no gender, then became male or female when they were around someone male or female? At any rate, I remember when I read it, I thought the "he" pronouns were weird even at that time. I didn't necessarily think she should have used "they," but "he" definitely gave me the impression their resting state was more male than female. I was laughing when you described your rehearsal because I had a rehearsal for a piano performance on Tuesday and my teacher told me to just play and she would stop me if there was something I needed to change. I think she stopped me around 10 times during a 6 minute piece! I have dreams that I could play something so well that afterwards my teacher was like, "Wow! If that was your performance, I would be happy." It's great that you have such talented actors that seem to be really into the material. It's so much easier to perform well when the script or piece is something you love. Good luck with the filming! I'm very curious to see what it looks like in live action.
