PATRON EXCLUSIVE - Cut Strange New Worlds Video Segement

Hey everyone! As I mentioned at the end of the main video itself, here is a section I cut from the Strange New Worlds video. It was originally going to be my ending, and the last minute or so is about the same as the actual video, but the rest of it is mainly focused on the history of Star Trek, it's treatment of minority folks, as well as me sharing a story about Star Trek Las Vegas and meeting Terry Ferrell, who was amazing. I ended up decided to cut the segment because while it was a really personal story, it felt like it was dragging out the conclusion longer then it needed to by a fair margin, and I think it was more powerful to end the video the way I did. But I still think its a worthwhile story and message, so here it is. I hope you enjoy it <3 Also, warning, I do start to earnestly unexpectly tear up a bit in it.

Also, like - as regards the more reacting content, I kind of don't get it. Maybe it's because I am directly affected by the trans g*****ide but like... when there's a trans- or politically-focused video, I have to build up energy for it. That doesn't mean I don't love the work, but it does mean it can be a week or more before I feel up to watching stuff like that. Meanwhile if it's Trek or Wars related I'm likely to gobble that up immediately.

I really love this very personal take, thank you so much for being willing to share it. Terry Farrell is clearly an awesome human being

The guest is Spotted Giraffe, host of the Strange New Worlds podcast - they said that Spock's story became a DNA story, that is to say, that his identity was reduced to biology

Hey Jessie, so heartfelt! Beautiful! Two questions: 1) a couple minutes in, you realize George Takei’s last name is pronounced “tah-kay,” not “tah-kai” right? (We just learned that within the last couple of years ourselves having mispronounced it for years). 2) Your unnamed guest says something we couldn’t quite understand near the end. It was something like “Instead they chose to make (Spock’s) a _____ story.” What did the guest say there?
