I enjoyed finally seeing Prime Universe (well, sort of Prime Universe) Kirk and loved Paul Wesley's more subtle way of portraying him. I mean, what's he supposed to do? Swagger around in a way that was considered overacting even in the 1960s when Shatner was doing it? Also, La'an's reaction which I'm sure will be played out more. Again, all of the social messages of TOS and 50+ years of improvement with Uhura getting more character development and background than in the entire TOS series. Maybe if Nichelle Nichols had gotten to do that, she wouldn't have been so angry about feeling she needed to stay in the show and be a symbol. In fact, more real character development for Kirk than probably in the entire original series., Overall, great episode although I had thought this was going to be the Lower Decks crossover. [crying]. Which brings me to my one pet peeve. I thought the Narrator would be revealed to be part of Uhura's hallucinations or the aliens perceiving the three-dimensional universe as fiction and speaking of it as such. But it turns out to be just breaking the fourth wall. Maybe it was just a subtle artist's way of saying to the audience: "This is not real. Someone wrote it. You won't get this quality ever again without writers that you have to pay fairly".

What's are some good ways to support actors/writers during the strike and not support the studios, as regular viewers? Saw Neil Gaiman and some others say *don't* cancel your streaming subscription, *don't* stop going to the movies/watching shows (already completed pre-strike, anyway), etc.

I quite enjoyed the metaphor of the line "your move" between Christine and Spock. And the way La'an keeps making excuses to be around Kirk to try to scrounge up the courage to start talking and confiding in him... yeah. I get that so well.
