Star Trek Picard 3.09 "Vox" REVIEW

Well it's time to find out what was behind the red door... and it's sadly not Tuvix.

Star Trek Picard 3.09 "Vox" REVIEW

I'm gonna say Transporter room.

"Borg Sperm" Ugh, no, that wasn't what the explicit explanation gave us in the slightest, nor is it how genetic engineering works. We've been getting 'hints' to the Borg for so long it wasn't remotely surprising, agreed that it feels a bit of a weird bait-and-switch. It was indeed Alice Krige's voice in there, but I don't think it was just her voice... we'll see next week as to whether it's AK in the suit. Interesting to note, the chaotic less-than-perfect interior of the cube and the Queen (from what we do see of her). I'm wondering if this is a result of Old Janeway's highjinks. The killing Shelby fits with the killing Shaw and the older unassimilatable crews and officers... I mean hell: THEY KILLED EXCELSIOR OFF SCREEN!!! Also, this isn't the normal kind of assimilation, so the youths can't assimilate the elders because they have no nanoprobes. Fortunately, otherwise, we'd have seen Shaw assimilated and that would be even more traumatising. Oops, didn't mean to post... hadn't finished... Of course Geordie rebuilt and salvaged the D, and Worf destroying the E some how... well, that's par for the course. They couldn't use the film ship an homage to the tv show. Nice that it canonizes Worf getting the E though. Note, the D bridge is the series version, not the film version: no side consoles on the ramps. Edit because, This also means if we see the D at the fleet, she's instantly recognisable as Enterprise, because there are no other Galaxy class there: Ross class, sure, but no Galaxy's. Speaking of classes, seems Terry has assimilated more of the STO classes as I noticed at least 2 Alita in there (that was not enough ships to be the entire fleet though... the earlier graphics would count for three or four battlefleets worth, but what ships we see are not remotely the whole entire starfleet), RIP NuSpacedock though.

You know, I remember hearing that they recreated TWO Enterprise D sets. Obviously one is the bridge, but it's like, if it's true they recreated two sets, then what would be the other set they'd need for just the next episode? I keep coming back to two possibilities. Main Engineering and the Battle Bridge. Well, I guess next week we'll find out if that rumor is true and if it is, which set was the second set.

I left many comments on the video but I'll reiterate here that Enterprise D is my favorite AND I FUCKING CRIED.

Not shocked, but disappointed, they could have done things with a twist, but no, they did nothing new. It's like Picard is the worst written fan fiction ever. How is this being made by the same people who did discovery, lower decks, strange new worlds, and even prodigy? The best scene in all of Picard sadly was them stepping on the bridge of D. I miss thar warm glow, and color scheme
