The Long Road #310: Similtude

We finally hit one of the best episodes of Star Trek Enterprise, Similtude. It's Tuvix but even more ethically dubious! And it's a great one as we continue on The Long Road.

hi Jessie, oh, this one. this one hits hard, better buckle up. yes, when in doubt blame Rick Berman. oh nos! they forgot to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow and now Trip must die and then die some more times. how many times does Trip die? I agree with Archer here, they need Trip to save billions of lives, yes it sucks to create a person just to kill them, but for the most part "the needs of the many..." is solid. They could have called the clone Rekcut . this child actor is really good. This ep reminds me most of "Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach" where I agree with the decision the leaders of Magalis and their child sacrifice process, but I do not agree with How they gain "consent" from the child. controversial opinion I know. I feel like the crew merged their feelings about Sim and Trip after Sim's death, so it was kinda like the two of them became 1 person in their memory. or maybe that's just me projecting. on the other hand they could have kept Sim and let Trip die, which you discussed and I agree with if they could change Sim's aging process. but I get where Archer is coming from, take the road of most certainty, I hate it but I get it. Carpenter Street, uhhh, yeah it's got its issues, kinda like the whole show
