So here's the next big video essay AND while this version for Patron doesn't have it, this is the one where I'm announcing the official pre-launch of the Kickstarter for the short film in the official YouTube version. I am so... honestly nervous to announce this thing. Oh also; some of you noted that the Kickstarter pre-launch page link that I shared yesterday didn't work! That's my bad, I thought it had gotten set up but Kickstarter needs to approve it (they said by today), so I'll share out the link once it goes live (hopefully tomorrow), along with some cool new concept art I have for the film, and y'all can sign up if you want.
That being said, something happened last night, in a good way, that might change the release schedule of the Kickstarter. I'll share in a bit once/if it's confirmed. But for now, the current plan is to announce the Kickstarter Friday.
Anyways, enjoy this video essay! It's another one I've had working for a while, and it was weirdly coincidental that I'm releasing it at the same time as the Kickstarter, considering they have similar topics haha! And, also, FYI, while this one is about a transphobia topic, I worked to make his one more engaging then hard. AND on that note, for the next 2-3 videos I'm planning on all on nerdy/fun topics, so, hell yeah!
What happens when capitalism, AI and gender-critical transphobia meet? You get a TERF app. And it's... interesting.

I just wrote a long paragraph and then deleted it because I'm afraid that someone might figure out where I work and it would get back to my company. But I will say that you bring up very good points and my experience supports what you are saying.

It’s so interesting, as an entertainment professional, how a certain kind of person who “fails” as an artist can end up becoming a hatemonger. Can have the kinds of experiences Sall had and just end up learning all the wrong lesson. I’m a middle-class (or as close as it gets these days) cis white woman and I have spent so much time trying to explain to terfy cis white woman why their behavior is just helping their oppressor, only to be called a “handmaiden” and dismissed. Or clocked as trans, which kinda proves my point. I don’t care whether people think I’m cis or not, but it speaks volumes that their imagination is so limited that they assume any woman who is for trans liberation must be trans themselves. One woman called me a witch, because I have moles on my face, which is just . . . accusing women of *witchcraft* is feminism now? Aaanyways. Your work continues to grow in thoughtfulness, humor and fabulousness. I wish you all good things.
