I'd love a nonbinary (or other) breakdown. I accept nonbinary, genderfluid, agender, etc people, read many essays from their perspectives, use the pronouns when known, applauded Shonalika's music...but I still can't quite get myself properly into the headspace of that understanding. Binary trans I can, many animals I can, NB...it's trickier. Could always use more.

The AI topic (re. gender bias etc) is really fascinating - seen recent academic research on this; also the white women/TERF stuff, as well as toxic fandom - so many fascinating topics to do deep dives on. Looking forward to what you come up with next year. You make me miss doing my own research in the social sciences; shock! But doing the fun stuff is so important. We need balance in our lives. Take care (from another weirdo dork). Hugs to friends in the U.S. We live in strange times.

Hee, Jessie, I guess try not to self-edit too much about where your muse takes you, and remember trolls like Walsh tend to want to put you in a trap of feeling like they need to be countered by you even if they're just feeding irrational stuff to irrational people. Lies are meant to be a psychological double-bind that way. And horror's not my thing but I'll see how you do, I suppose. :) (Being a Pagan I'm not even too thrilled about marginalized folks only turning up in those kinds of stories anyway, ...not that I'd be the worst one to call on if something like that was coming down. :) ) Liminality, though, one of my favorite topics... and states. :)

"Jessie's got-a gun!" is what i thought immediately at the start of the video. absolutely do what you need to take care of yourself. especially with all that malarkey last month. and those "lighter" videos, while not exposing injustices or talking about important issues, can still do great good in the world. I know after a hard day of life in this world, when all the worries wear down on me, turning on a video and seeing you joking about and doing funny voices and playing games makes me feel a little bit better about things, and i know a lot of others feel the same ways too. so yes, all the important things that need to be said, and in the way that is unique to you. that's important and does real good in the world. but you can't do that all the time, or you'll burn up. but even when you "take it easy" and are just having fun, you're still doing real good in the world. I would love to see more content from you talking about trans joy. Like, how being trans is beautiful and powerful, and stuff like that. Something positive, something heartfelt. I think it could be a nice change of pace from the emotionally-draining work you've been doing with the harder topics lately.

Have you ever considered hiring a researcher to help with the more upsetting topics? Then at least you see the results of the research, rather than the whole mess of it, especially where the topic is covering hate speech etc. Eg, as a cis person, I get angry at transphobic rhetoric, but its not triggering for me personally. Maybe you have someone you trust - or someone from this community, who could help you shoulder the emotional load?
