Jumpgate #27 - A Distant Star

Season 2, Episode 4, A Distant Star - An old friend of Sheridan arrives on the ship and makes him miss his old assignment. Meanwhile Dr. Franklin puts multiple officers on "meal plans." Seriously, that's about 2/3rds of this, a real plot doesn't kick in until halfway.

Every show should break an actors foot haha. And I can def tell she was having fun haha

The comment about it not being that hard to do continuity across episodes made me chuckle. It is easy. All you need is for the actor to break her foot while rehearsing the Drazi conference room fight scene and then frantically rewrite multiple episodes to accommodate the now broken foot. Even more fun, Claudia Christian had to film the scene where her foot was broken with a broken foot. All those stunt performers in full makeup and contact lenses limiting their vision falling on her made for some convincing acting. Watch that Drazi conference room scene again before the fight starts, and you will see Claudia Christian clearly limping in the shot where she walks up to the pair of green and purple Drazi and places both sashes on one.

For the Queer romance you mention in this podcast episode, WB had some issues with how it would be portrayed, but JMS won the battle with the network over that portrayal (the reach across the bed that happens). Neither actor had an issue with it, there was something else that happened (would be a spoiler) that messed up those plans. And catching up from a few episodes ago: Regarding the last episode of season 1, the picture of the president used in the episode was Douglas Netter, one of the Exec Producers.

Yep! And I think it was also the last production note that WB gave to JMS, as well. They were very largely hands off with the show, and for the better, imo.

So context for Warren Keffer (aka Boring White Dude), he was a character that the WB execs forced JMS to add into the show because they wanted a "cool fighter pilot". JMS resented this greatly so his blandness and pointlessness is purposeful on his part.
