I've been reading the expanse novels recently that are super rigid about incorporating the time delay so it's really jumping out to me as sci fi magic. The union episode would be way different if Earth couldn't actually get updates or send orders in real time and quietly sent the battleship then to handle it

2022-08-11 05:54:30 +0000 UTCThe cliffhanger between these 2 episodes really has me wondering how the jump gates work. They have instantaneous communication with Earth, but no way of getting a message ahead of time or knowing who's about to arrive through the jump gate? Very strange
