Hi Jessie! First of all, I gotta say I'm super hyped to see you on Nebula, especially if that means you're gonna be making more videos like your Sex in Star Trek series. I'm really looking to see part 2, by the way. I really like when you can take the time to go in depth in a subject, so if doing one video a month will bring more vids along that line, I'll stand by that decision no problem. Also, my husband will be super happy to know you're gonna do a podcast on B5. It is his favorite sci-fi show, and he's been pestering me to watch it for years. If you start doing a podcast about it, I won't have a choice but to give in to follow along.

Go big? I have really loved your longer videos, especially the sex and Star Trek. I’m happy with fewer but longer. But I started following you and decided to support you because of your content, not the length of it. So what works for you, where your vision takes you is good for me. Is it better for you to watch on Nebula or YT? I tend to mix and match but I do like the ad-free experience. YT massively misjudges what ads to show me!

Ultimately, I decided to support you because I trust your creative vision. But I know feedback can help, soooo: I enjoy longer formats and bigger ideas and look forward to more stuff like that from you! 1-2 videos per month seems ideal to me, as a viewer. A balance of depth and volume is wonderful. And I know Trek content doesn't always do the best but I so appreciate that you keep doing it. With that said, I was also glad to hear you're pre-emptively working to avoid burnout. In my own journey towards being a creative professional, I ran myself ragged. I accomplished a lot all in a short period of time, but I crashed and burned. Set myself back in the end. Please do take time for yourself! Take vacations. Go have a life, whatever that means to you. In the long run it's 100% necessary to sustain the kind of work you're doing. Anyway this comment is so long, I'll just say LLAP and end it here <3

Hey Jessie! New patreon here. First off, go where your passion takes you and please keep a healthy work-life balance. All that is to say I‘m here for long once a month video essays if that is what you want to do. As for video editing, I used to do video editing back at university (mostly on Avid and Final Cut) and would love to support you but it‘s been years since I last did anything so I might not be up to the level that you require. I‘m pretty sure you find loads of people a lot more qualified. 🍀💜

Thanks for the update Jessie! Sounds like you have exciting things in the works. One of the big reasons I'm a fan is I like your creative choices, whether it's what you choose to talk about or how to talk about it so if you keep trusting your gut, no doubt I will be happy! I haven't yet made it to a watch along party but the Farscape one sounds fun!

I don't have the mental bandwidth to watch a 2-3 hour long video every day so whatever you need to do, to keep yourself healthy, I'm happy to keep supporting your creativity. It would also be cool if you did some shorter, lighter videos in between the deep dives, but only if you're inspired to do those sort of things. One of the things I like about you is how well you consider all possible angles and nuances before you speak out so maybe going less in depth is actually harder :)
