Half-Life 2 was a true masterpiece, not just for how it advanced video game storytelling and gameplay, but how it used it's narrative tools to discuss systems of oppression, how violence works, and the results of systemic oppression; while also using the language of video games to not only show the player how those systems work, but make them experience it themselves.
