50 First Dates | Summertime Vibes Film | Full Reaction

This movie absolutely moved me! Which honestly, I was not expecting. After that interesting opener, I thought I would be stepping into a movie about a guy that played the field but finally fell for the one that would keep slipping away. But this.. This was on a whole new level!

I've always adored Drew Barrymore. I grew up watching 2 movies consistently: Jumanji and The Charlie's Angels films. And even though she wasn't my all-time favorite Angel (that spot goes to Cameron Diaz lol), she completely stole my heart here. And Adam Sandler! Up until now, my only experience with him was Bedtime Stories which did not leave me impressed at all. I always thought he was doing 'too much', and I didn't think he was funny at all in that film. But this? It revealed a whole new side of him that has me finally understanding why people love him. He was funny, tender, and so deeply devoted.

What I loved the most about this movie was how magnetic their love felt. Almost fated. I believe in soulmates and sunshine and rainbows lol. And this movie captured all of that so beautifully! The idea that love is worth fighting for, even when memory fades, even when life rewrites itself every morning. There was so much more heart in this movie than I ever could've imagined, and it left me feeling completely whole.

Thank you all so much for joining me on this journey through the Summertime Vibes series! It's been such an awesome summer hanging out with you all from roars to dark sea voyages and finally here. It feels so fitting to end on a film that reminds me how love, in its purest form, always finds a way πŸ’–

Blended is one of my favorites. Really enjoyed your reaction as always. This is one I was sure you would like and enjoy. You will like it also.

Great reaction Kali! Drew and Adam’s is great! +1 for the Wedding Singer!

A really good Sandler movie that gets forgotten about is Reign Over Me (2007). Some of his best acting and a stacked cast.

This is one of my favorite rom-coms. Drew and Adam have been really good friends for a long time which is why I think they have such great on-screen chemistry. As others have said, The Wedding Singer is another great one with the 2 of them. Not quite as emotional but just as hilarious and sweet. There's a 3rd one, Blended, that I haven't seen. I've heard it's one of those love it or hate it movies though. Rob Schneider who played Ula was Adam's cast mate on SNL for several years. His own career took a downfall mid-2000's. His comedy was always more raunchy (as seen here) and I think it got problematic at one point. But Adam has included him in a lot of his movies as small roles like this or even just cameos. Rob has said that when his career and life went downhill, Adam always kept in touch every week just checking on him. And he still does to this day. My favorite in this one though was Sean Astin. This came out right after the LOTR movies which made his absurd character even funnier in this.

I think that entire scene was my favorite hahahaha phew. Her bloody scream into the sweet giggles sent me 🀣 I'll have to check out Punch Drunk Love! I was pleasantly surprised by him in this movie. Not what I went in expecting at all!

Oooo I need to watch it! I was very surprised by their chemistry. Really loved it!

If you loved their chemistry in this movie, you really need to watch The Wedding Singer. It came before this movie, and it's a really great rom-com with those two. (Plus it's set in the late 80's, so real nostalgic for me also)

Lucy beating the crap out of Ula with the baseball bat is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Genius level comedy and a great sell by Drew Barrymore. This movie has some surprising feels, but if you want to REALLY see Adam Sandler flex his acting muscles, check out a forgotten little film called "Punch Drunk Love." Wikipedia describes it as an "absurdist romantic comedy-drama." Sandler plays a character far outside his usual wheelhouse and really delivers a noteworthy performance. It's a weird little movie but well worth a watch.
