Watching Ellie carry the weight of grief, rage, and guilt this entire season has felt so deeply human. Through her arc with this search for revenge and Dina, I learned that survival isn't just about living, but about still being loved in spite of everything. Or maybe because of everything.

This finale is one I didn't see coming. I thought they were going to leave us on a cliffhanger where Ellie and Abby finally meet. But this final episode didn't give us a clean resolution or path forward. No grand gesture of redemption. Just complicated, painful, human choices.

There's a lot to sit with in this final episode. Thinking back on how open and reflective this entire season was, I feel like I'll be thinking back on this one for a little bit. But I'm so grateful we got to walk through all of it together! Thank you all for hanging with me these past late Sunday nights (and one Monday morning lol).

I totally agree! I wish they would have just made this season the entirety of Part II of the game! But I guess money and other factors weighed into this decision. But it is an interesting one I agree haha. Sad we have to wait for Season 3, butttttt excited for whenever it gets here!

I totally agree that this season finale was not what I expected after the awesome season we had so far! A bit of a let down for sure.. But hopefully Season 3 will pick up again since this was kind of a hard split because of the game!

I'm 100% in agreement with you about Ellie washing up on the island being fluff. It just highlights how short the episode actually was for a finale. I kind of understand why they've made season 2 this way and what I expect season 3 to be, however it's going to be irritating to wait at least a year when they could easily have made this season 14 episodes instead of 7 (when you consider season 1 was 9 episodes and felt a bit rushed in places). Overall though a solid season that I think does work better than season 1. I do have an issue with story choices giving Dina more to do (which is great) came at the expense of dumbing down Ellie. Ellie in this season is a bit of a meathead when we know from season 1 she's smart and resourceful. This was the show's biggest misstep and I can't blame Bella Ramsey - they acted the way they were directed and written.

I don't know what to think about this season finale. I'm sure the worst episode. Two completely unnecessary scenes, a lame script that makes Ellie a total idiot (which she wasn't in the game, it was handled better there). Sorry, the game is better this time. The good thing is that the ending was great and Abby's return was what I was hoping for (whoever played the game knows). Well, and I still don't know how the creators will encourage people to wait probably 2 years for the next season. I for one will probably watch, but out of a sense of obligation rather than curiosity, although I still have some, because Abby's storyline in the game was awesome.
