Gardens of Stone | Movie Ticket Pick | Full Reaction

I quickly realized how much I still have to learn about the Vietnam War and the complex politics surrounding it after jumping into this film. But it stirred up that deep desire to learn more, so if anyone has any favorite documentaries about this War that they'd love to share stick them in the comments here!

What really struck me was how the movie didn't just pick one narrative on the matter. It gave space to multiple voices, showing that there were so many different shoes to be worn, each carrying its own weight. I absolutely loved that about it.

Big shoutout to Meatball for using his Movie Ticket to bring this film into my growing catalogue here! This one's staying with me for a while, and I'll be revisiting it after a deeper dive into the political climate surrounding the Vietnam War.

This was a good movie pick. I've seen a lot of War movies, but somehow I've missed this one. It was my first time watching this and I thought it was a good one. It definitely took me back to my time in service. This movie kind of reminded me of another good one called 'The Messenger' (2009), which you should watch for Memorial Day. Another good, Vietnam War movie I would suggest is the 2002 film, 'We Were Soldiers', which is a true story based off a book by Lieutenant General (Ret.) Hal Moore and reporter Joseph L. Galloway.

Oo haven't seen any of those yet so I'll definitely be getting to them eventually! I never thought I'd consider myself someone that enjoys War films, but here I am. Loving all of them and the shows I've watched because they've made myself feel so small (in a good way, of course lol). And I feel like I learn something new every single time, which is a plus. I hope you enjoy this one!

First off: Happy Mother’s Day! I’ve never seen this film so I will watch your watch along and the movie later tonight. I love War films, I hope someone does a Movie Ticket for The Hurt Locker or Spartacus (Film) someday. I think my favorite War film is probably The Pianist. That’s a War movie I’d personally love to see you react to. I wish I had the means to buy a movie ticket pick for that but alas I don’t.
