I didn't know how to feel going into this next episode after the last one. But I actually loved it and, apparently, really needed it. It felt like such beautiful closure for Joel. It made his loss feel even more personal and heavy, but in all the good ways. Not in the Abby horror show ways. I was honestly taken back by the council's decision. They still cling to order and rules even when chaos demands flexibility. I feel like this kinda highlights how sometimes systems can fail the people they're meant to protect.

I'm glad that Ellie and Dina have each other and still chose to honor Joel, even though their path ahead is clearly dangerous. The WLF's sheer size and strength was intense. It's very clear that the fight ahead for justice and love won't be easy. But it never really is, is it?

I think it's kind of twisted to think Joel had it coming. He stopped them from murdering a child. No matter the motivation, that is what they were going to do, murder her. If you have to kill someone to stop them from murdering a kid, it's ok for the kid murderers' relatives to come and murder you? The thing that is "just fucking wrong" is the vengeful killing of Joel. Joel wasn't being vengeful; he was protecting a kid from murderers. Her father was a POS and deserved to die.

Yeah, for sure, I knew Ellie wouldn't just sit around the town and wait for that help. But I think the speeches and differing opinions from the people in the town really helped build up the world so much more. We see that even though the world has gone to hell, there are still people that would watch your back and that means A LOT in this messed up place.

Could’ve done without the council scene. Whether you played the game or not, you know Ellie’s going after Abby. Would’ve preferred they used that time with a Joel flashback to keep the audience engaged in the backstory of how we got to where we are.
