Added 2025-10-17 17:30:03 +0000 UTCIt's been exactly five months since I shared my reaction to the Season 4 finale. A solid amount of time to miss these characters, and I love that we get thrown into a pit of confusion with them to kick off Season 5!
Since this was a two-parter, I've put them in the same video since I had a feeling I'd do a giant talk session at the end (which I did), but we'll continue with one video per episode through the season per usual.

Jeff Ward is good so far! Definitely gives main character vibes already. Excited to see more.

One fun fact that hasn't been mentioned yet - Jeff Ward (Deke) was originally cast as Virgil, but the showrunners then thought he was too good to kill off in the first few minutes, so gave him this role instead (they might have even created the role of Deke for him - I seem to recall hearing that, but I'm not sure and don't really remember the specifics).
