This Week: May 19 - 25 (plus Announcement)

Hello everyone! A warm welcome to all of the new members, both paid and free! Thank you so much for choosing to be here and for your support. ๐Ÿ’š

The video attached to this post is regarding an announcement that I wish I didn't have to make, but need to. And there are positives to it, in the end. For financial reasons, I am decommissioning kaiielle.com this week. Effective immediately, all brand new watchalong reactions will be accessible right here on my Patreon page. The website will continue to exist as it is until all videos are moved back to Patreon and the reactions here are as organized as I can get them with the Collections feature. So there is no interruption at all, but if you want to watch older reactions, best to still use the site in the meantime. I will announce when this is completed and the site is formally shut down. My domain will still remain, but it will be transferred to my Fourthwall Shop - currently shop.kaiielle.com. Sometimes life calls for tough decisions and the most important thing is that I will still continue giving you all great reactions and we will still have great discussions. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm sorry Ana, my MCU schedule is staying at one show/movie per month. This was a decision that I made a while ago for many reasons and it is working for me, so it will continue that way. I appreciate you tuning in for them when they drop!

kaiielle

Loving the breaking bad reactions on YouTube but Iโ€™m mostly here for the MCU reactions ๐Ÿ˜ญ itโ€™s been roughly only once a month. Would love if we can get more of those ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

Ana Arias

While I appreciate the suggestion, it has been reacted to by many channels over the years and doesn't seem to be a super popular option. There is a large channel covering Season 1 of that show right now (Imon Snow: 225k subscribers), and the videos are getting super low views relative to her audience size and very few comments on the videos. Obviously this doesn't mean that mine would be like that too, but it doesn't give me a ton of hope, considering the massive commitment to edit all those reactions down. I say I do want to edit it eventually, but it's not a priority right now because I have high doubts it would give me the type of boost that I'm looking for on YouTube. I think focusing my time on some larger (and frequently asked for) movies and more popular shows is best for the rest of this year and into 2026. Thank you, though!

kaiielle

So I have a suggestion that might help with the Youtube issues. I have been watching a LOT of reactors over the past year (especially when I was I was recovering from my surgery) and I noticed that reactions to popular franchise shows/films seem to do really well (such as Star Wars, Star Trek, MCU, etc....). So maybe bring the Agents of Shield over to YT (its MCU, most people have heard of or know of it, and there haven't been any reactions that I have seen to it over there so it would make yours something special....beyond being special for having you doing the reaction of course). Just a thought. Hope things pick up for you on YT though. Sorry you had to take down the website though. HUGS!

Chris Marrero

I do! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Gotta get caught up on the big stuff. Thanks for being here! โ˜บ๏ธ

kaiielle

Itโ€™s a bummer to have to make changes for financial reasons, especially letting go of things, but I totally get it. Tbh Iโ€™m looking forward to catching everything in one spot since I watch primarily on my phone. Hopefully something triggers an uptick in subs and growth! Iโ€™ve really enjoyed your content for a couple years on YT but finally decided to check out Patreon this yearโ€ฆand you have lots left to see. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

VirtuallyVeronicka

Haha don't worry, my intro will cover the explanation. ๐Ÿ˜‰

kaiielle

I may just have to wait for the reaction for the explanation but I am intrigued that you already have familiarity with Robbie Williams. I assume it's specific tracks more than his life story. In any case, I'm so used to the common refrain being, "I had no idea who this guy was but the movie is incredible."

Tyler Foster

Thanks Sean. I've definitely done some looking around and to your last point, that was pretty much exactly what I was coming across. Reduced costs, but increased time... and my time is already pretty packed as it is. So by choosing to bring the website to a close, it will ultimately save on both costs and time, which I could definitely use right now as I like my current output and want to maintain that.

kaiielle

Completely agree Patrick!

kaiielle

Less stress is always healthier and happier, and with the world we've been forced to be in now, healthier and happier are necessary destinations. ๐Ÿฅƒ

Patrick Crippen

Sorry that you've had to drop something that you'd put so much work into. Website maintenance costs are one of those things that are hard to get right - it's so easy to pay much more than you actually need to, and if you don't have the background in the field it's not easy to work out what the options might be (and the associated trade-offs with them). Plus, most of the ways to reduce costs will result in increasing the amount of time you need to spend, so it's not straightforward either way.

Sean Ellingham

Welcome! The Last Samurai was so good, and that's a pretty old reaction now! Appreciate you being here.

kaiielle

While I understand that is more convenient for some people, unfortunately I cannot afford my own legal counsel to give me the a-okay and help me out if something were to happen, so I will NOT be taking that risk for my own reations and myself. I'm sorry. My interpretation of Fair Use laws is that I cannot re-distribute the entirety of a movie or TV show episode within my own content, regardless of whether it is free or paid.

kaiielle

Thanks for post. I noticed a lot of reactors are changing their channel so we donโ€™t have to have our own copy of the movie or tv show. Cinebinge just did it. I love it because it saves me a lot of money, before sometimes I would have to rent or buy the movie. Just my 2cents. Canโ€™t wait for your future reactions.

Perry Campbell

I'm sorry you had to make this decision, but I understand why. It's so hard letting go of something you've created. I've only been a member for a few weeks, but love your reactions. I think it was watching your youtube reaction to Last Samurai that sold me. I really appreciate your gratitude to your subscribers, your openness, and that you don't take crap from anyone - so many reactors seem to act like sycophantic circus chimps, but you don't.

ChrisD

One thing I can promise is that I will always be online in some way so long as we still have it in the world haha. Even if it's just in a Discord server or some other group chat program. ๐Ÿ˜Š Appreciate ya being here and yes, always gonna roll with upfrontness and involve you all because it doesn't make sense to me to NOT do that when you are all choosing to be here with hard-earned dollars! ๐Ÿ˜Š

kaiielle

I'm so sorry you had to make this choice but I appreciate how honest and upfront you are about the situation. It's a trait that I feel is a big reason why I love this community so much. You tell us the facts, you tell us what can be done about said facts and then move forward. There's no wishing and hoping, there's a discussion. You include us in the discussion. Even though this is a video that's been made after you've come to a decision, it feels like we're actively part of the discussion as we're going through the video. I'm not going to say I'm a positive ray of sunshine spewing rainbows and unicorns but this community has definitely helped me see things in more than one light. So until you say 'Adios', which I hope never happens, I'll be in your corner, overdramatizing what should have been a short snd simple comment ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿคฃ

It do sometimes, but ahh well. A chapter closing, but not the end of the world! Thanks Bryan!

kaiielle

Understandable! It looks like we just see the time involved in TV vs. movies differently. TV series are far more rewarding on rewatches than movies are, because I love the experience of catching things I missed the first time, or certain scenes/conversations having a lot more weight to them knowing what's to come. I know that's the primary reason why I'm enjoying editing TV reactions. Don't get me wrong, that feeling can happen with some movies too, but not nearly on the same level.

kaiielle

Sorry you had to make that decision. Especially since the website meant something to you. Adulting sucks.

Bryan Dempsey

Iโ€™m the complete opposite of you. I can rewatch a movies over and over again because itโ€™s just 2 hours of my time and done! With shows you canโ€™t just watch one episode. You have to commit to watching the whole thing all over again. That takes up too much time in my opinion. Thatโ€™s just me.

HugoBoss435

I feel like it'll take less time than I think! Thank you for the kind words. ๐Ÿซ‚

kaiielle

Sorry to hear this! Hereโ€™s hoping it all get sorted out soon.

Austin Belzer

I just realized that I forgot to explain in the video/post that my website was a much easier decision for me to drop over my part-time editor, which doesn't feel like an option because Miles has been incredible for my movie reactions. He edits them well, everyone enjoys them, and it allows me to put focus on the TV series that I want to edit (though I still edit movie reactions too). I have NO INTENTION of quitting movies ever. There are still so many. I got concerned that my video sort of came across that way - no way! ๐Ÿ˜Š If you're ever curious which edits Miles does vs. me, check the YouTube video descriptions. I credit him in all of his edits, whereas my own are not credited at all.
