Now that you made it this far, I can finally say that looking back I can’t help but notice some parallels with Moon Knight. Marc Spector was on the brink of death when he encountered Khonshu who also had a thirst for vengeance against lowlifes who deserved it. In exchange for a second chance at life and rapid healing, Marc agreed to carry out Khonshu’s vengeance and was given extraordinary powers to do so. In a similar sense, Robbie was also about to die until someone heard his cries for help. That someone took form of Johnny Blaze, the original Ghost Rider. And just like Marc agreed to become Moon Knight, Robbie also agreed to embody the Ghost Rider and deliver the flames of vengeance.

It's funny you specifically mentioning the "walk-and-talk" scene between Mace and Jemma, and the scene in the powerplant control room with Mack and Fitz. This episode was directed by Billy Gierhart, who worked for years and years as a steadicam operator before taking the reigns as director. So he's got a bit of a flair for good camera-moves I'd wager. I also really appreciate a good "walk-and-talk" setup, but they are expensive to do as the "reset" between takes can take a fair bit of time. I LOVED that slow-motion shot of Robbie being flung out of the car and praying to anyone who would listen to save his brother. Very well done. I believe there was no post-credit scene because there was a trailer for Doctor Strange instead, which released the same day this episode came out.

Giyera cheated. He had something that was holding the door open.

Lots of answers this episode! Not only finding out how Robbie became Ghost Rider, but also how Lucy et al became 'ghosts', what they were trying to do, and on top of that that Eli is the bad guy! We get another good dual meaning line courtesy of Robbie's response to Lucy's "You're his nephew Gabriel, like the angel": "No. I'm the *other* one" 😈 Nice makeup work as well for Lucy, as you see she still carries the same blood stain on her face as a ghost that Eli gave her. You can understand why Mace is so put out - yes, Coulson is a good, experienced, competent agent, but he's constantly going behind Mace's back without reporting what he's up to, and is associating with people that as far as the public is concerned are criminals at best and domestic terrorists at worst. Mace having enough and putting his foot down had to happen eventually, it's just unfortunate timing that it's happening now, and that's at least partially Coulson's responsibility. Ghost Rider being the first to break out of the module is only partially accurate - yes, he's the first to break through the doors, but Giyera also managed to pry the doors open last season.

Regarding your binge-watching comment - not sure how far ahead you'll be getting to cover your time off, but if you want the equivalent experience we had when watching live, the 'mid-season' break was after 4x15 (the airing schedule for S4 was quite a bit different to previous seasons, so there wasn't a break after episode 10 as in previous seasons)

Great origin episode. All of the Ghost storyline started with Eli including the origin of Ghost rider and gabe's accident. Nice job catching the Agent Carter reference to the events of season 2. Zero Matter makes a return and you may recognize some more references next episode. To answer your question about the good samaritan this is never answered in the show but he is the original ghost rider Johnny blaze. There are many ghost riders in the comics but he is the most well known. If you ever get a chance watch the first ghost rider movie to learn about him. Last episode we had Easter eggs from where the dark hold was found that basically were hints that meant he killed the last owner of the darkhold then hide it at his place but Lucy and Joseph found it.

The devil answers prayers too… for a price. Johnny Blaze (Ghost Rider) transferred it to him and that was cool af… wish we got to see Nicholas Cage though.

Oh well the timing on that means I *could* take a break with watching/uploading these. 😂 (Except I won't)

One quick comment whilst I wait for YT to finish processing - those of us watching live had a three/four week break after this episode! Think it was due to some sporting thing - don't remember what exactly
