Jodie Comer became one of my fave actresses last year and I believe this was her first big movie, though she did play Rey's mom in The Rise of Skywalker and appeared for like 30 seconds lol and now this just makes me want to see you react to the tv show Killing Eve just to see how amazing she is!

2024-12-07 16:19:23 +0000 UTCI feel Jodie Comer is a massively underrated actress. Her ability to produce accents is crazy as neither accent in the movie is her real one. She naturally has a strong Liverpool accent. It's a skill she used throughout the tv show "Killing Eve" where I've seen comments of native speakers being impressed by her ability to produce regional accents while speaker other languages.

2024-12-04 13:32:22 +0000 UTCI remember looking forward to this movie in early 2020, before Covid. I made sure to see it in the theater, and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though I'm not a big gamer. So yeah, I missed some of the Easter eggs, but it's just a fun movie!

2024-12-03 17:21:13 +0000 UTCI loved the chemistry between Ryan and Jodie. So playful and cute with the right amount of tension that didn't feel overplayed or underwhelming. Oh, if NPCs could tell stories. This was a great representation of all the shit NPCs are "put through" and used the "escape the system" trope in a unique way. The best part however is Taika Waititi's exaggerated evil CEO that causes just as many laughs as he does facepalms. "I don't care if he's Arnold Frickin' Schwarzenvader" lives rent free in my head. Chris Evans wins best cameo award? Oh and all the modding! I loved the fun it had making fun of mods and cheats! Free Guy really went all-in with the references. I mean, at this point it was just about a done deal with Disney buying them. What were they gonna do, sue themselves?

I know…what timing, right? 🤣 I had a load of fun with this film, though I’m sure I missed a ton of the Easter eggs and references.
