I think the biggest mindflip in this episode for me was the idea of people from the future of an alternate world coming to you and asking you to trust them over your own future selves.

She was having a miscarriage, and Egon was sent to save her from the apocalipse and travel to the 80s in order to have young Egon's baby. Whoever that baby is (no spoilers), they are important in Adam and Eva's world. And in regard to Aleksander, you were wondering who was the person he murdered. But we already know this. It was Klausen's brother. He told this to Aleksander in season 2 when he detained him.
