IMPORTANT! How to avoid new charges for members who sign up via iOs Apple Store

THIS ONLY APPLIES TO PATRONS WHO USE AN IPHONE OR IPAD AND MAKE PAYMENTS VIA THE PATREON APP ON THE APPLE STORE

Dear Members, you may have already been notified of this by Patreon themselves but I thought I'd go over it as well just in case you missed it. In November 2024, Apple is going to add a new 30% fee on top of the existing rates for using the Patreon App on Apple devices to make payments. This is basically Apple demanding a 30% cut of all Patreon Creators, if payments are made via the Apple Store on an Apple device.

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
Apple is to add a 30% fee on all purchases made via the Patreon App on the Apple Store. Patreon doesn't get any of this 30% fee, and we don't get any of this 30% fee. Only Apple benefits from this, and Patreon is forced to charge this extra fee or they can't have their app on the Apple Store.

HOW TO AVOID APPLES 30% ADDITIONAL FEE?
Pay for everything Patreon-related using one of these methods below...

1. A desktop/computer via the Patreon website

2. An iPhone or iPad using the Patreon website (NOT PATREON APP)

3. An Android device using the Patreon website or Patreon App

TO PUT IT SIMPLY JUST DO NOT USE THE APPLE STORE VIA THE PATREON APP TO MAKE PATREON PAYMENTS ON AN IPHONE OR IPAD.

WHO DOES THIS APPLY TO?
Only members who currently pay via the Apple Store on iPhone or iPad using the Patreon App.

Im already a member via the Patreon App on the Apple store on a iPhone/iPad

If you're already paying for your tier via the Apple Store, and you're happy there, and your subscription rate already gets automatically debited every month, you're fine as you won't get the additional 30% charge - but if you wish to migrate away from the Apple store, then cancel your membership and re-subscribe using one of the options below.

1. A desktop/computer via the Patreon website

2. An iPhone or iPad using the Patreon website (NOT PATREON APP)

3. An Android device using the Patreon website or Patreon App

I currently pay via the Patreon App on the Apple store on a iPhone/iPad & want to upgrade

If you are a current patron and decide to upgrade your tier to a higher tier (or free member upgrading to paid), you should use one of the options below to avoid the 30% Apple fee.

1. A desktop/computer via the Patreon website

2. An iPhone or iPad using the Patreon website (NOT PATREON APP)

3. An Android device using the Patreon website or Patreon App

I unsubscribed and want to resubscribe

If you unsubscribe and resubscribe, you should use one of the options below to avoid the 30% Apple fee.

1. A desktop/computer via the Patreon website

2. An iPhone or iPad using the Patreon website (NOT PATREON APP)

3. An Android device using the Patreon website or Patreon App

If you're new and want to sign up, you should use one of the options below to avoid the 30% Apple fee.

CAN I CONTINUE TO USE THE PATREON APP?
Using the Patreon app is fine, you can continue to use it on any device to view content etc, just don't pay for anything via the Patreon app if on an iPhone or iPad.

So once again - to make it very simple, if you use the Patreon App on an iPhone or iPad to make payments, Apple will add an extra 30% to your payment. So please use any other means as explained above to make your payments to avoid these extra fees.
