Foundry Module Updates and Hosting
As some of you remember, I've had some troubles with my Foundry Modules last year - my host got hacked, everything got deleted and I had to hurry to find a new solution quickly. In a rush, I moved everything to Dropbox. While Dropbox is a secure solution, it is far from the most optimal one. It makes updates to my content incredibly difficult to make, and it forces me to constantly change the manifest URL, which means that you all would have to come back here for a new URL every time there is an update. It also forced me to make any updates manually - automation was not possible. When you consider how much content I have, it makes it incredibly time-consuming. This is why the updates so far have been slow and cumbersome. That is far from ideal.
This is all about to change!
We have been working on a new custom system that will allow me to have a secure, encrypted Foundry module storage with the option of automated updates!
What does this mean for you? This means no more waiting months upon months for an update to my modules once a new Foundry version comes out! It also means that if there are errors that keep popping up in my modules, they can be easy and quickly fixed!
Big thanks goes to my Foundry dev for his wizard powers of making things like that happen! I do not know how he does it, but my god, it feels like magic to me.
As of right now, my Foundry archive still has the Dropbox links, however, I am going to be replacing these links over the coming month or two. This will, hopefully, be the last time you would have to install my modules to receive the updates. While I cannot guarantee that I won't have to change their home ever again, I sure hope that I don't. We've done everything in our power to make that the case.
