SHORTS: Blood Forest

In the realm of the old gods, life has found a strange way of existing in the maddening reality they create around them. The blood forest is one such place where life gets twisted and mutated into a new more survivable form. Those who visit the blood forest often find themselves changed by their time there, as the very cells in their body begin soaking up the strange eldritch energy that flows there. How will your players' bodies be forever changed?

I get what you're saying, just thought that its easier for newer dms to sift through whats too hard at a glance. Also i prefer to balance encounters on exp instead of cr, but thats just me.

I suggest keeping the CR the same as they are listed. Realistically speaking, how often would players be in a place like this? Answer: rarely. EXP is given to players because of... well exactly that, experience. When you fight a eldritch version of a creature you're not learning any new tricks to help you fight the normal creature. EXP isn't solely combat bound either. DM's please heed my advice: If you are doing an EXP progression campaign, don't forget the prior statement. We experience new skills, knowledge, and sometimes even life changing events in real life... And most of us aren't in combat on the daily. Providing EXP for peaceful resolutions, clever solutions, and new discoveries, will show your group that: You don't have to take every fight and it's beneficial to play your character.

Now this one most certainly fits the Campaign I have set (Grim Hollow btw). You're putting out great content, keep your head high great one.

Love this! Actually great stuff! I'd love to see an estimated CR or total exp in a column next to the monsters so its easy to estimate how hard it is. A table for mutations on wildlife would also be sick! Maybe mutations give them legendary actions? That way the monsters get way more special
