The Crypt of the Ankheg Queen
Added 2020-04-29 20:45:52 +0000 UTCTravelers on the King's Road often pass through the small town of Montbanc. A small settlement, its only claim to fame is an ancient crypt that supposedly holds the remains of ancient heroes. Often holy men will make pilgrimages here to seek blessings from above.
Recently, however, the crypt has been sealed off. Reports of some kind of monster living in its depths and people and livestock going missing have forced the townsfolk to keep their distance. What they don't know is that an Ankheg, while expanding it's burrow, inadvertently tunneled into the crypt. Now, it feeds not only on people and animals traveling outside the town, but on anyone unfortunate enough to enter the crypt.
