If it weren't for friction, you wouldn't be able to walk, sit, wear clothes, hold hands with anyone.
Visually, it works very simply. interferes with the movement of the body on the body. But at the molecular level, atoms are attracted to each other, as if they want to merge with each other like tiny magnets. And there are a lot of such "magnets" and that's why the friction is so strong.
