Early access to the next video - The Mint Julep

The Kentucky Derby is upon us, the sun is shining, and the mint juleps are flowing. Sit back and enjoy a little prose in this ode to the mint julep, and learn why it's important to treat your mint with care. 


RECIPES AND EQUIPMENT: http://www.cocktailchemistrylab.com/home/mint-julep


-Add 5 or 6 spearmint leaves to a julep cup

-Gently muddle them to release the oils, then discard

-Add crushed ice to julep cup (use a lewis bag and a mallet)

-Pour 2oz of bourbon over the top

-Pour 0.5oz simple syrup over the top

-Add a bunch or two of mint into the ice

-Get your nose into it and enjoy!

Thanks Joe! I've never actually heard of non-alcoholic spirits. Is that a thing? Most "mocktails" are actually designed without the alcohol and can be awesome. I must confess, it was this video and the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster vid that made me want to be a Patreon, in particular the bonus video that follows going into the history of the julep, I really wanted to see that. Thank you so much. I wanted to get your opinion on using non-alcoholic "alcohols" in cocktails, with things like bourbon and gin, that give the flavour but none of the actual alcohol. Thoughts?
