Off the Grid Adoption Fix

Patch 1.96.365 - updated for patch compatibility. Note this update will not be backwards compatible with previous game versions due to the new INFANT enum that was added with this patch. Updating the mod without updating the game will likely lead to tuning errors and other issues.
Re-updated: Turns out EA added a brand new interaction to the adoption menu that is also unavailable off-the-grid, which the other adoption menus are locked behind. I have re-updated the mod to re enable it.


Have you ever noticed if you try to adopt a child or pet from the phone while off the grid, it simply does not work? Even if you have plenty of power surplus to do so? Me too!  Turns out, EA for some reason implemented a test into the phone interaction for adoption, which will always fail if you are on an off the grid lot, thus blocking the interaction from occurring. Seems like it may be an oversight, as this test does not exist on the corresponding computer interaction (and as such, that interaction seems to work just fine). This fix works by simply removing that test from the phone interactions. However, please also give this AHQ thread a "Me Too" so hopefully EA will release an official fix for it.

Note: While these fixes technically only require Cats and Dogs and/or just the base game, it will only really be relevant if you also have the Eco Lifestyle expansion pack, as that is the only pack  which allows you to generate power off the grid (which is necessary to even use the Hire Services option on the phone in the first place on OTG lots). Therefore if you do not have that pack, you do not need this.

Installation Instructions
If you do not own the Cats and Dogs Expansion pack, only get the BG Fix. If you do have that pack, get both.  
1. Download the appropriate files, depending on what packs you own (see above). Place them in your Mods folder (or a subfolder within Mods)
2. Make sure Mods and custom content are enabled in your game settings.
3. Delete the localthumbcache.package file located in your main Sims 4 folder.
