Ladies and gentlemen,
here is a look at where I am at with the texturing of the totem pole. I have been struggling for a while to get the right "look". My first attempts looked like a child drawing :) But after some trial and error with this I am finally starting to be happy with how it looks. I am hoping it reads as carved into the log and then painted over.
I am going for two versions of "faces" on the three height levels. Each can be turned on or off. That should give enough options to play with.
The upper face here is some sort of bull ready to receive some horns. The middle a bird/eagle (with an optional beak and wings coming up) and the lower one is a demon from the lower planes!
I need to add one or two face versions and then go on to the ornaments. After that I will tackle the drums which should take less time hopefully.
This week we had a couple of days of "grandchildren time" too which was fun and exhausting at the same time :) Tomorrow we have another funeral :( So it feels like the full spectrum of life these days.
And that covers all I can report for this week! Until next time, stay safe and keep building!!!
