This has been quite an exciting week for us because we finally got voice recordings from every major character in Fur Quests recorded for the demo. Obviously, we can't afford to have the demo fully voiced right now, but we could afford to hire a few voice actors to perform voice barks to add a little more personality to the characters in Fur Quests.
We still have a lot of work to sort that out. Our main heroes voice barks alone are roughly 60 minutes in length put together, and we have even barks coming in for lesser characters like Kara, so look forward to more of that soon!
In other news, as we are aiming to release the finished game on RPG maker Bakin, there are a lot of new features we started to consider for the game that we hadn't in RPG maker. One of the bigger ones is player sprites.
Until now, we've used simple portraits to convey a range of emotions in our characters. But since sprites include the whole body, these could be a whole lot more expressive than anything we've done before.
So we put it up to a vote for our disciples to determine if they liked the portrait look more or the character sprites, and the sprites won out. Now we will still be working on portraits for minor characters as it would take up too much disc space to give every character in the world one or even more sprites. But it is still an exciting addition we look forward to playing around with in the future.
It is especially exciting to see how far our art has come since the beginning of Fur Quests.
