Wako pirate ship prototype

I built the first prototype and it all went quite straightforward. Once I add the texture sketching you can get a good feeling how the final version will look. As this is a half size build (15mm figures size), I was worried about the posts of the towers. The ones on the back tower I built in paper. They are 2x2mm. For the front tower I tried out using matchsticks which worked great!

I only wanted to make some improvements to the hull, as I made the sides too straight. When I compared it to the sekibune and atakebune hull I realized I forgot some curves. So here is the already improved just-the-hull-part version in comparison.

Speaking of comparison, here is a shot of a 15mm atakebune build next to the wako pirate ship. Due to the perspective foreshortening and the fact that I made the extending framework on the deck of the wako ship a solid plane here, they both look almost same size, but the atakebune is actually a bit longer by about length of the front lower deck part.

Now it's time for me double the template size back to 30mm figure scale and start working on the texturing and the splitting of oversized parts!

Happy building,

Chris
