Jolly boat texturing and rigging question
Added 2018-07-11 10:22:06 +0000 UTCA little WIP update: I have not yet decided how I will tackle the mast and sails, so I textured the jolly boat instead :-)
This is the wood version, but I will also have a white and dark grey version for the outside. The details (oars and rope coil) on the deck are optional layers, so you can either use them as seen here or switch them off (independently, if you just want the rope for example) and make your 3D oars!
For the mast/sail/rig I am wondering how far to go. My idea right now is to make mast stumps on the decks of the ships where you can insert optional mast and sails. To make it very easy I will experiment with flat 2D mast and sail parts that you can just insert into the mast stumps. Maybe for extreme detail lovers I will make 3D masts.
Any thoughts on that?
