From rowing boat to jolly boat

For larger ships or just to transport more people I made this jollyboat design. The small rowing boat is ~4" long. The jollyboat is ~6" long.

I first just made a longer version of the rowing boat but it didn't look right.

I then studied my research pics and adapted the geometry. I made the bow shorter and more round. Also I widened the boat slightly as the curving of the sides was lost during the stretching.

This looked much better. Now I was happy with the shape. Here I made the inlay part so that 3 minis with bases can fit. But I will also make another version that will look more like the "benches" would be arranged.

As you cannot fit minis with bases in that version, you can still just take out the inlay part and place your minis into the empty shell of the boat for transport!

Next I will design what I call the gun boat. It will be a 8" long smaller boat with one mast, the typical boat that pirates used.
