Crushing the cannon
Added 2018-05-20 06:29:40 +0000 UTCI wasn't sure if it would work, but I think I have succeeded in making not only a simple build of the cannon but also a fold flat version!
Behold, a squashed cannon! :-)
There are three parts, the gun carriage (lafette) and the barrel plus ending part. The carriage usually has a wedge in the back to control the angle of the barrel. I have incorporated this piece into the fold flat version. This flap will hold the unfolded carriage in form. The barrel is just squeezed into "round" form and then you insert the ending piece, to look a little better.
Here is the view from the back side.
The barrel is using now ornament additions, just textured details, so it's easy to squash flat.

So now you have the choice to either go high detailed or quick and easy!
I am very happy how the cannon turned out. I am looking forward to see them in many action pics. Not only on boats, but maybe also on castle or in ruins etc.
Now that this is done I will go back to the docks...
