Fencing with fences

As I am in the process of creating fences, I thought I ask you guys if there are any special needs for gaming I should consider?

I am planning on making the fences either around 15mm or 30mm high. The half height would be for the typical garden fence and the full height for cattle fences.

These sketches are 3" long. To make other lengths one could manually cut them to the desired size. Are there any special lengths needed?

I also made this more typical bamboo fence, but it will be more of a challenge to cut out the edge.

The village fences I have found typical for Japan are usually very thin and a nightmare to cut out. I think this one is a good compromise between looks and building utility.

Let me know if you have other ideas or needs regarding fences!

Happy building,

Chris

Yep, that would be my approach too. Render a 3D model and then slap that on 2D parts :-) I have not walked down the 3D printing route yet. All the tests I have seen so far have not convinced me to jump on that train, but I guess I will somewhere, sometimes. Right now I am focusing on the advantages of paper printing things. But I can see the potential for high and small detail hero buildings with a 3D printer.

I was going to just model them in 3D but I was looking for textures for paper models as well. Maybe I'll make a 3D model as a base for my texture then pull it into gimp and set up a printable one. If I had a 3D printer it would make terrain building easier.

Vikings! Maybe I should start making my Viking village I have planned too? Do you mean to model them in 3D but then use them as 2D texture or 3D print them?

The bamboo looks excelent.

I've been wanting some for games of saga viking skirmish game. Been thinking about making them 3D but I also was looking at textures and trying to come up with something.
