Amazing work. The finished piece shines like a star (not only from the polish). It is however sad that the series has come to an end. I've enjoyed it immensley. Lookin' forward to whats to come. Keep it up. Truly my favourite show on the old youtubes.

PS: Just a coincidence that you had 23 episodes? ;)

That was an amazing series Chirs, and I too got a bit emotional especially at 09:39 in this video. See everything laid out and ready for assembly stirred up emotion and drive to finish my own project. I'm super excited about your next project and will be following along with great enthusiasm. Chris, I can honestly say that I am one of the many inspired by your project. For years I've been running my own small shop out of my garage, doing all kinds of things, from carpentry to blacksmithing to small machining. Watching your series made me take the Plunge and learn machining professionally. If you remember, my class wanted to use your plans in our course. Not only do you inspire me, you've now inspired a whole department of students and educators! I really can't say enough about how much your series has done to make machining accessible to the lay person. Can't wait to see the next project!

Hey Damon, the clock design is by a well known clockmaker from the UK called John Wilding, you can buy his plans from here: http://www.clockmaking-brass.co.uk/clock_construction_books.html Scroll down to the "Large Wheel Skeleton Clock" construction book.
Having said that, the next Patron Series project will be something of similar complexity, and the plans will be completely free to you as a Patron - its an excellent project, and you may want to have a look at doing that as well (or instead!)

Chris, so great to see the fruits of all your labour. It really is a beautiful device, you've done yourself proud!
I don't recall which episode encouraged me to start sending a few upside down dollars your way, but I knew next to nothing about machining or 'shop working; I'm now gearing towards buying a house and I will NOT settle for somewhere without a garage or workshop space! I think you can be confident you've inspired a whole slew of people to get into precision machining and metal work.
Keep it up dude, from Bristol, UK

What a journey, so much patience with the polishing haha. It's really enjoyable and fascinating watching you turn raw stock into such a beautiful machine. The precision of it all kind of scratches that OCD itch a bit but for me- the remarkable production quality is what brings this series to the next level! So many beautiful shots, totally consistent format and style, thorough explanations, cross referencing and scaling back of the basics as the audience learned the techniques. Just really well conceived, bravo. Can't wait to see what's on the drawing board.

Thank you and I'm looking forward to what's next. While I understand you're keeping the next project under wraps, any hints on how long we have to wait until the first video?

Excellent Job, Chris. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series, and it goes to show that independent content on YouTube can be far more compelling than what is shown on commercial TV. Do you have plans to put the drawings and design for this clock up on the Clickspring Projects website? I'd love to take a crack at building one myself.

This series has been marvelous, start to finish. One of the things that makes Clickspring stand out is the excellent production quality of the videos. I have one question related to this final video. I'm assuming that after all your final polishing you took some steps to control tarnish. Was this just a careful wipe down with 50/50 lacquer as you showed previously? Or did you use a different process at the end?

Now I'm pining away for the space in my condo to set up my own shop and build something like this. It looked like you had lots of fun and enjoyment building this clock and your level of precision and perfectionism just completely blew my mind. Did you shellac the pieces after the final polish? Also I saw on another channel that bronze bushings set in the brass frame would last far longer. If you decide to build another clock, would you use bronze bushings?
Can't wait until the next video. Chris, you are an inspiration!
