i would like to congratulate you,not once, but 3 times. you have made it to the hacking community of hackaday where everyone loves and enjoys your work. i cannot wait to see you next piece of art(your work is engineering art that shows what real dedication to a job well done can get you)

Cleafspear

Amazing work. The finished piece shines like a star (not only from the polish). It is however sad that the series has come to an end. I've enjoyed it immensley. Lookin' forward to whats to come. Keep it up. Truly my favourite show on the old youtubes.

Thank you so much Nicole, your longstanding support means a lot, very much appreciated :)

Clickspring

Cheers Tyler, more details soon :)

Clickspring

Absolutey stunning. Thank you so much for sharing it with us all! I'd definitely love more shots of the final clock in action~

Nicole Aptekar

This turned out incredibly beautiful. Congratulations on completing the project! Can't wait to see what you have cooking up for the next project!

Cheers Steven!

Clickspring

Ha ha! Its a very photogenic machine! It just ended up 23 episodes by chance, although I'm doing a mega edit of all episodes so there will be a bonus 24th episode to round it off :)

Clickspring

Congratulations Chris!

HAHA! Gorgeous, that final bit of cinematography at the end, beautiful. Mind you I'm sure with such an elegant piece it's not all that difficult to get perfect shots ;) Thank you for bringing us on this adventure in your workshop and I look forward to the future installments from you Chris! PS: Just a coincidence that you had 23 episodes? ;)

Magik Eh

I have gone the traditional route, the clock will be permitted to develop a rich natural patina over time.

Clickspring

Cheers Steve :)

Cheers Aaron!

Clickspring

After final polish are you going to put anything on clock to help maintain finish and shine

Great job looking forward to next project....

Never thought I would be so entertained by a clock build. Then you inspired me. Put that thing in glass and give it a name, it deserves it!

This had to be one of the most entertaining and educational video series I've ever seen. Well done, Chris on a fantastic project and as others have said, the videos formula is perfect.

Dave Ostler

What an amazing project Chris. Beautiful build. Beautiful videos. Before discovering Clickspring (through Making It I think) I never thought about milling/turning/machine work, but man I can't wait to get into this as well. Just need to get shop space again! Can't wait for your next build.

AM de Jager

That was an amazing series Chirs, and I too got a bit emotional especially at 09:39 in this video. See everything laid out and ready for assembly stirred up emotion and drive to finish my own project. I'm super excited about your next project and will be following along with great enthusiasm. Again, really well done mate and thanks for taking us on such an amazing journey.

Mark Valenzia

Congrats on reaching the end of a fabulous project! We've been fascinated watching it all come together, and love how your craftsmanship extends not only to the details like making perfectly blued screws, but to the video editing and presentation! We wait with bated breath for the next series to come along. I do hope you get a decent break over Christmas though! :)

Paul Warren

Amazing. Stunning. Looking forward to seeing your next series

Colin Dick

Yes yes yes yes....!!! Chris, great job, great videos, just darn great . Thank you so very much for it all.

Thank you Mark, more info soon :)

Clickspring

Cheers Ken :)

Clickspring

Terrific to hear that Tom! I reckon the next patron Series project might be a good class project too, stay tuned :)

Clickspring

Have to say, I got a bit emotional seeing it all finally come together. Well done on a superbly crafted clock, and EQUALLY well done on your superbly crafted videos. Looking forward to the next project!

Mark Wilkes

Excellent craftsmanship. I was mesmerized by this whole series. Thanks for letting me be a part of it.

Chris, I can honestly say that I am one of the many inspired by your project. For years I've been running my own small shop out of my garage, doing all kinds of things, from carpentry to blacksmithing to small machining. Watching your series made me take the Plunge and learn machining professionally. If you remember, my class wanted to use your plans in our course. Not only do you inspire me, you've now inspired a whole department of students and educators! I really can't say enough about how much your series has done to make machining accessible to the lay person. Can't wait to see the next project!

Thomas Moore

Ha ha! Terrific to hear about the workshop Sam, be sure to send me through some pics when you start making chips :)

Clickspring

Thank you mate, really appreciate the encouragement :)

Clickspring

So pleased to hear that Scott - I'm working towards announcing both the next Patron Series project and the next YouTube project simultaneously in about 2 weeks(ish!)

Clickspring

Terrific to hear that Matt, more details soon :)

Clickspring

Hey Damon, the clock design is by a well known clockmaker from the UK called John Wilding, you can buy his plans from here: http://www.clockmaking-brass.co.uk/clock_construction_books.html Scroll down to the "Large Wheel Skeleton Clock" construction book. Having said that, the next Patron Series project will be something of similar complexity, and the plans will be completely free to you as a Patron - its an excellent project, and you may want to have a look at doing that as well (or instead!)

Clickspring

Thank you Scott, more details soon :)

Clickspring

Cheers mate :)

Clickspring

Thank you Gordon, really appreciate your support mate :)

Clickspring

Cheers Glenn!

Clickspring

Ha ha! Nothing happens quickly in clockmaking! Thanks for being patient!

Clickspring

Terrific to hear that DM, more details on the next project soon :)

Clickspring

Chris, so great to see the fruits of all your labour. It really is a beautiful device, you've done yourself proud! I don't recall which episode encouraged me to start sending a few upside down dollars your way, but I knew next to nothing about machining or 'shop working; I'm now gearing towards buying a house and I will NOT settle for somewhere without a garage or workshop space! I think you can be confident you've inspired a whole slew of people to get into precision machining and metal work. Keep it up dude, from Bristol, UK

Dr Caesar's Palace, MD

What a journey, so much patience with the polishing haha. It's really enjoyable and fascinating watching you turn raw stock into such a beautiful machine. The precision of it all kind of scratches that OCD itch a bit but for me- the remarkable production quality is what brings this series to the next level! So many beautiful shots, totally consistent format and style, thorough explanations, cross referencing and scaling back of the basics as the audience learned the techniques. Just really well conceived, bravo. Can't wait to see what's on the drawing board.

Brandon Fayer

Your videos taught me how to use a lathe, launched me into what is sure to be a life long hobby, remind me about the value of patience, and calm me after a long days work. Thank you and I'm looking forward to what's next. While I understand you're keeping the next project under wraps, any hints on how long we have to wait until the first video?

SCOTT SWAALEY

Wow. I binge watched all the episodes to date over last Christmas, and have followed along ever since. I'm not sure what has been better - your machining, or your filmmaking skills. The combination really makes your work stand out. Now looking forward to the next project!

Matt Hessinger

Excellent Job, Chris. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series, and it goes to show that independent content on YouTube can be far more compelling than what is shown on commercial TV. Do you have plans to put the drawings and design for this clock up on the Clickspring Projects website? I'd love to take a crack at building one myself.

This has been an overall superb presentation! Congratulations and I can't wait to see the next project. Again well done.

Scott Clausen

A beautiful masterpiece by a true master. I remember starting at Episode 1 seeing your work on Reddit. To see how far you've come since then, and how amazing everything turned out has been inspirational. Your skill, dedication and hard work has definitely paid off. I'm thankful to be a part of the journey, and I look forward to whatever is coming next. Catch ya later.

Aaqib

G'day. A great end to a great end to a great project, Chris. I've thoroughly enjoyed every second of your videos and must admit to watching them several times. Eagerly awaiting your next project.. All the very best, Gordon (the Pom)

Gordon Burns

Stunning result! Congratulations and thank you for sharing. Very motivating. "I'll see you later!"

That is truly beautiful Chris! Such a nice surface finish on all the components, no wonder we had to wait so long for the video!

James Cuddihy

This felt like a journey for me and the end was very fulfilling. This has been very inspiring for everyone who watches your videos and has motivated me to delve more into metal craft. Your last words have me in great anticipation for the next project and I can't wait for the next masterpiece.

Duane

So pleased you're enjoying the vids Brian, the best is yet to come :)

Clickspring

Thank you Simon, very much appreciate your support :)

Clickspring

Thanks very much Emma!

Clickspring

After watching from the beginning, there's almost a sense of grief now that it's over. I've spent so much time watching your videos (minimum 10 times each). 650 days since the first video, and I can't wait to see what else comes along here.

Brian A

Congrats on completing the clock. Been a fan since the start and I didn't think this day would ever come :'(

Congrats Chris. You have to be proud of that clock!

Clickspring

Terrific to have your support Mike :)

Clickspring

Ha ha! I am thrilled to hear that Charlie, look forward to hearing stories of what you make :)

Clickspring

Actually it feels a bit strange - that clock has been so much a part of my daily life, it still sort of surprises me when I walk into the shop and see it all finished! Good thing the next projects are keeping me busy!

Clickspring

The clock will be allowed to age in the traditional manner, picking up a rich patina over the decades. Generally bushings tend to be brass, but its also not uncommon to see the truly high end pieces jewelled with synthetic ruby bearings. Terrific to have you on board mate :)

Clickspring

Ha ha! Cheers mate!

Clickspring

So pleased you've enjoyed the series, very excited about the next one :)

Clickspring

Cheers Blake!

Clickspring

Thank you PJ!

Clickspring

Terrific to hear that Ralph!

Clickspring

I'm super excited about the next projects Dean :)

Clickspring

In fact I've gone the full traditional route on this one - the brass will be left to develop its own beautiful patina over time. Great to have your support Dean :)

Clickspring

GRANDIOSE !! MERCI !!

Roland Guth

This series has been marvelous, start to finish. One of the things that makes Clickspring stand out is the excellent production quality of the videos. I have one question related to this final video. I'm assuming that after all your final polishing you took some steps to control tarnish. Was this just a careful wipe down with 50/50 lacquer as you showed previously? Or did you use a different process at the end?

Dean Thompson

This is kind of how I felt when The Wire finished. I hope the next one is just as special Chris.

Well Chris that was a most enjoyable 10 months of my life.

Ralph McCoy

Incredible Journey Chris, with a Magnificent finish! Honestly I am at a loss for words (if you can believe that). I salute your skills, ingenuity, craftsmanship and tenacity as an Artisan. For now I can only offer my heartfelt thanks for sharing all this with us! ~PJ

PJ

It looks so good, it looks fake. Perfection. Thank you so much for letting us follow you on this clock making journey. I can't wait to start watching what you make next. Congratulations, and well done!

Truly astonishing! I was almost lost for words at the end. Thanks so much for taking us all on this journey Chris. It has been a really rewarding series to follow and your dedication to the production of not only an incredible looking time piece, but a brilliant series of videos has been nothing short of breathtaking. Thank you and I know I'm not alone when I say that I cannot wait to see what is in store for us with your new, upcoming projects.

Congratulations mate you must be stoked. Certainly one for the poolroom!!

Andrew Robb

Now I'm pining away for the space in my condo to set up my own shop and build something like this. It looked like you had lots of fun and enjoyment building this clock and your level of precision and perfectionism just completely blew my mind. Did you shellac the pieces after the final polish? Also I saw on another channel that bronze bushings set in the brass frame would last far longer. If you decide to build another clock, would you use bronze bushings? Can't wait until the next video. Chris, you are an inspiration!

Great to finally see it! Can't imagine how it feels to finally have it finished.

Matthew Dillard

I had to leave this sitting in my cue for an hour or so because I didn't want it to end. What a work of art it turns out to be. Thank you Chris for sharing this journey. By the way, you cost me a lot of money, This looked so satisfying that I had to go get some metal working equipment for my own shop. Thanks for the advise on the blog portion of your web site regarding equipment. Cheers

Charlie Robinson

I can't really do a better job of saying what has already been said in the comments, but thank you so much for sharing this with us! I am certainly excited for the next series!

Mike Michelizzi

Congratulations on achieving a beautiful and precise final result. It was a pleasure to take the journey with you and I look forward to whatever you have planned for us next.

Tom Colson

Thank you, Chris! <3

Max Jonsson

Chris, your craftsmanship is top-notch, as always. You should be very proud of what you've done here. It was tremendously satisfying and interesting to watch. Your passion for what you do comes through the screen and is completely infectious--I was delighted to see the graver make a final appearance in the series!

Joe Fisher

Wow!! Thank you so much again, Chris. This channel is so amazing and I'm a bit sad that this was the last episode of the clock, but oh dear what a beautiful piece it turned out to be! Can't wait to see what your next project will be, I trust you that we will love it. Keep up the good work!!

Awesome Chris, really awesome!! Wel done and congrats!! Looking forward!

Ruben vd Merwe

Thank you Chris for the Inspiration. The Clock ist beautiful. You spent us a lot of time for the videos i want the say Thanks for

Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing the journey, it has been an incredible experience.

Brent Reed

Dammit, the tick-tick-tick at the end gave me such a rush of emotion. This has been a ride and a half all right, a wonderful series, building a beautiful, intricate machine. I very much look forward to what comes next, if it's even half as great as this has been, it'll be truly great. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Gert Sønderby

Totally amazing as always. That final polish is stunning. Your attention to detail is truly something to aspire to. Not only fantastic craftsmanship but I think you have redefined what good build video's look like. The videoography is also something to aspire to and easily rivals that seen on mainstream TV. So excited to see what the next project might be.

Paul Busby

What a triumph! Is the next project a chair so you can sit and watch the clock? :)

Dan Martin

Fabulous work. Can't wait to see what's next!

Steven Bierlink

Thank you!

Matt Syme

It's been a joy watching this project take form in such a beautiful and engaging way over nearly 2 years. I can't wait what you have cooked up for us next!

Breathtaking Chris. Well done
