Added 2015-07-18 03:12:50 +0000 UTCThere are quite a few fasteners that need to be made for this clock, and I thought it was about time I showed the whole process from start to finish. Making custom screws is quite a time consuming process, but I think ultimately it adds quite a lot to the character of the clock.
Plenty of small lathe work, some freehand turning, as well as final finishing with oilstone powder, diamantine and heat blueing.

Hey Toby, I think Malcolm also sells them as blanks so that you can open them up to suit a custom cutter

You know it really surprises me how much detail and control a graver can give. I'm editing a video now on turning the pivots, and I decided to turn those 'old school' with a graver too.
