Hi Alan, I do use indexable tooling for a few things like hard castings, but to be honest I prefer to use HSS for most everything else. I find I need the flexibility of being able to shape the tool for exactly what I need.

Hi Chris, different subject but have you considered indexable tooling for the lathe and if so how about a tutorial. I feel like it is a good thing to do but have no idea where to start ... Alan

Thanks for letting me know that Alan, I will have to give one a try next time I'm buying. Cheers, Chris.

Hi Chris, another nice piece of presentation. I have fallen in love with spiral flute taps. I think they are meant for fast CNC work but as hand taps they just grab easily and somehow seem to find their own true path. They are a bit more expensive but lovely to use. Kind regards Alan

Nice way to make a bottom tap...do it myself. Wonderful new videos and the heat work was stellar! Thanks! ~PJ
