Hi Alan, I do use indexable tooling for a few things like hard castings, but to be honest I prefer to use HSS for most everything else. I find I need the flexibility of being able to shape the tool for exactly what I need.

I think they are meant for fast CNC work but as hand taps they just grab easily and somehow seem to find their own true path. They are a bit more expensive but lovely to use. Kind regards Alan
