The Soprano curse. They only care for their self in the end. It always feels like Tony is fighting it but it keeps dragging him back down.

2022-02-04 19:29:38 +0000 UTCTony is told by Melfi that he may exhibit signs of alexithymia, where people with antisocial personalities crash because they have nothing to keep their mind preoccupied from the awful acts they commit. So at the end of the episode Tony has decided to head back to work, he sits down and begins buffing his shoes with an electric buffer then he begins using it to sooth the rash he got from earlier in the episode. He looks relaxed and pleased. The buffer represents Tony going back to work as a way to numb himself from having to deal with all of his evil acts. Tony has gone back to business as usual and just like the buffer, his job will sooth him and keep his mind preoccupied from having to mentally deal with the pain and suffering he knows he has caused to so many. As for Richie/Janice, I think some part of him cares about her, I mean they had history from many years ago. Plus he was legitimately pissed when she said she wanted him to be boss, it seemed like he really cared what she thought of him. But ultimately I think he mainly wanted to use her to gain better traction in the family. As for Janice, she's definitely using Richie...IMO Janice only loves Janice! One of Junior's best moments was when he tells Catherine that her dead cop husband was not on the take (when it's pretty obvious he was). He let her keep the saintly version of her husband in her mind. Just seemed like a nice thing to do when he could often be a heartless prick.
