2025-02-04 23:40:54 +0000 UTCAce's design has sooo much foreshadowing: His hat with the two faces (one smiling and one frowning) The red beaded necklace he wears (similar to Dadan's) His tattoo: A - for Ace S - for Sabo (crossed out to represent the perceived death of Sabo but also the X on Sabo's pirate flag) C - for Crybaby Luffy (I haven't seen anyone talk about it, so I'll throw out my theory. It has a large dot in the middle of the C (sea?), which could represent Marineford and Whitebeard appearing directly in the middle of its bay. Or since the C is for his little bro, it could also represent his arms around Luffy b/c 1. it is his duty to protect Luffy and 2. he dies in Luffy's arms, while also holding him. So many potential meanings...) E - for Edward Newgate

2025-02-04 23:13:03 +0000 UTCRight before Luffy leaves, he says to the mountain bandits, "Dadan, I don't like mountain bandits... but I like you guys!" tying it back to the experience he had with the mountain bandits vs Shanks. Also, someone else pointed out Luffy no longer winding up to do his pistol, showing that he's calculated how much momentum he needs for his punches. I wanted to add: that I recently just realized, when he went out to sea against the sea monster, the thing that keeps happening (when he punches, it comes right back and always hits him), he's learned to make that work for him by sending his fist in the opposite direction. It's a cool little progression based on what we know of rubber/stretchy powers and what we've seen him do thus far in the flashback. It's all the little details and foreshadowing that make rewatching OP so rewarding..
