I knw this is an older video, but about Pell's "death." I don't know if its been mentioned, but its a theory that the fakeout was something Oda changed after the fact. I couldn't find any solid proof, so it's just fandom theory as far as I know. But it's believed that the events of September 11 impacted Oda's decision to bring Pell back. Considering the chapter released in November of 2001, the timeline tracks.

For many openings and endings, One Piece does a great job of incorporating cover arts from the manga and many of those are just for funsies of the unwritten SH journey and some are easter eggs and just stuff to tease the fans but they keep us theorizing,
