Constellations 07 - Gemini, The Twins

Gemini is all about the mind and communication and i wanted to bring that into the design! I know he has an early rock singer style but i really wanted to try going for radio personality.

Doing twins for a twin themed constellation is too obvious (though it can turn out on super good results) so i wanted to make it just one! He splits in "half" to sleep, but he's one nevertheless.

Experimenting with his hair was fun! Honestly i took inspiration from Cameo! i wanted a big mouth to focus on his talkative aspect

Also wanted to invest into asymmetry as i wasn't going to make a pair. his body isn't halves but more like,,,, a third and two thirds? Nothing screams asymmetry as much as cubism does to me, so i started incorporating it in the design.

For his clothes i wanted to be very graphic!!! Besides the cubism inspiration, i went for the Triadisches Ballett. It has one of my fav costume designs ever, so it was nice studying it!

I made some studies for his mic as well - i wanted a magical girl vibe so i tried making big fun shapes that somehow incorporated the symbol of gemini ( ♊ )

For his star node i wanted to go even deeper into the cubist motif. I researched a bit of Picasso before doing it! I avoided black and white for the constellation color, but i thought it could look nice in the node.

Also there's a why for the positioning in the tongue! Wanted to tie up with his special ability! The main characters are all from very distinct places in the world, and i wanted a cool reason for them to be able to talk to each other.
