2021 status update

hey everyone, happy new year! i hope you're all doing well and are keeping good amidst what is still a lot of turmoil amongst all of us at the moment. I figured i'd give you all the broadstrokes of what i'm currently working on and what's hopefully to come throughout the year. i'm sharing this update here specifically, but it's going to be readable for anyone who visits the patreon. tl;dr at the bottom if you don't wanna deal with my word salad.

anyways, I finish my higher education this year and, being the last year, this'll likely be the most intense final semester of work I tackle. What's cool is what I study involves my art, but not all of it is suitable to show off here and a lot of it isn't even necessarily designed to be looked at beyond the basic concepts. still, i think a lot if it will be really cool and i'm hoping to be able to share some of it in some capacity as it manifests throughout this year.

once we reach the halfway point of this year, i should finally be done with education and am then free to do, well, whatever really. right now, i'm pretty keen to pursue what I do for you guys on a relatively fulltime basis. i've been incredibly lucky to gather an audience at the size it's currently at amidst periods of fairly long inactivity often brought on by various assignments i've had to deal with, so it'll hopefully be really nice to just keep doing what i'm doing unbarred by other tasks. 

i don't know if working freelance is entirely what i'll end up actually doing come my departure, but you'll be able to see for yourself right here if I'm able to hit my income goals for what i would consider "full-time" freelance. in the event i somehow end up doing art for an actual studio, i'll be sure to let you all know that that's the case. 

regardless, for the upcoming months i'm hoping to at least keep towards my monthly character poll content. i'm happy to say i'm just about done with (well what I think at least) is some really good zelda/link illustrations, and I hope to be posting that very soon, as well as the next character poll. there will very likely be at least a bit of an art drought through the next few months, again a result of the work i've got lined up, but i'm hoping to keep productive and well paced enough to make time out to create art for you all. i have a lot of fun with it and i feel like i'm very much going to need those breaks in the coming months.

hopefully that gives you some insight into where i'm currently at and what's planned anyways. again, i have some bigger overarching ideas that i would love to mention in more detail, but the chances of any one of these actually manifesting is a coin toss at the moment, and i'd like to not get anyone's hopes or expectations up in that regard. basically, i like to share stuff as it's either happening or when it's done, which is the big reason i don't post works-in-progress unless its with the actual finished work usually.
