Tooth Remineralization Protocol
Added 2021-10-03 02:36:37 +0000 UTCTo begin, you will want to ensure you are doing the Gut Repair and Solar Protection protocols to ensure you are actually absorbing the micronutrients you consume in your food, and for sufficient vitamin D levels, which ties into proper calcium metabolism.
The necessary micronutrients required for remineralization and improved bone growth, aside from calcium, are...
- vitamin D from sunlight, seafood/shellfish (skin, head/eyes, roe, and cod liver), and mushrooms. Supplement if absolutely necessary, though it really does not replace the sun or foods.
- vitamin A (retinol) from liver, eggs, and grass-fed meats/dairy/butter. Never supplement, consume food sources only.
- vitamin K2 MK4/MK7 from organ meats, eggs, grass-fed meats/dairy/butter, high vitamin butter oil, emu oil, and for MK7, natto. Can be supplemented.
- magnesium from seafood/shellfish, low oxalate vegetables, mineral salt and acid-soaked seeds/nuts, and supplementation.
- phosphorus from meats, eggs, seafood, dairy, and mineral salt and acid-soaked seeds/nuts.
- boron from a supplement. Link included here.
- riboflavin from organ meats, dairy/kefir, eggs, and mushrooms. Can be supplemented in low dosage.
- lithium from berries, dairy, potatoes, mineral water, or a low dose supplement (increases growth factors)
You will want to avoid the following, as they all either deplete necessary minerals or create dysregulation in their metabolism and balance...
- Fluoride in all forms (never brush your teeth with sink water if your water is fluoridated, use a filter or bottled water)
- Glyphosate (buy organic where you can)
- Oxalic and phytic acid (select low oxalate vegetables if you consume them at all, the Proper Preparation guideline will be of great help here if you continue to do so)
- Grains (including bread, pasta, pastries, cereals, especially if iron-fortified)
- Unsoaked seeds, nuts, and beans
- Refined sucrose
- Alcohol
Fermented foods and drinks, such as kefir, kombucha, yogurt, sauerkraut, kimchi, kvass, natto, etc. would be of great help in replenishing the oral microbiome with healthy bacteria.
You must brush daily with a non fluoridated toothpaste, preferably without glycerine. I've been using My Magic Mud recently. Flossing is of great help in cleanliness, but you will notice without sugar and grain intake, plaque does not really form. Oil pulling doesn't hurt either.
Mineral water containing calcium, sodium, magnesium, and potassium in their chloride salt forms (essentially any mineral water will, Gerolsteiner is merely an example) helps to cleanse the bacteria in the mouth that lead to dental caries (cavities).
Useful additions:
- Theodent toothpaste or theobromine extract in your own homemade toothpaste is shown to contribute to tooth remineralization. Raw cacao may have a similar benefit.
- Myrrh gum or oil is shown to contribute to tooth remineralization, improve wound healing, while also cleansing harmful bacteria.
After polysubstance addiction and marasmus level malnutrition from a vegan diet, my teeth were crumbling out of my mouth at the slightest pressure. I had numerous cavities and had to get several fillings. I damaged my teeth by doing stupid things like opening glass beer bottles with my weakened teeth while intoxicated, which broke them further.
Obviously, if the tooth is removed, it will not be able to be remineralized and it won't remove any fillings, but an extensive amount of damage can actually be repaired, contrary to what most doctors and orthodontists will tell you.
My teeth are incredibly strong now and I no longer have any cavities or discoloration. The damage from that beer bottle is still there, unfortunately.
EDIT: You will also want to eliminate smoke in all forms, it is extremely inflammatory and will impede the recovery process via reduced blood flow. Tobacco especially.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
