Nov. Video Podcast: Welcome to the Deciduous Tier!

Welcome to the brand new tier! Thanks you for choosing to be here. This video to kick us off is just a chatty podcast-style sit-down. The feedback I was hearing from the Evergreen tier, as well as in my youtube comments, is that videos like this (+ art-creating video content) was the most sought-after addition to patreon. I know I also like seeing bonus videos from people.

In this video I talk about: my new life changing water drinking experience, fidget spinning, revamping patreon and why I'm doing it, watching Gravity Falls for the first time, knitting, Nathan Fielder's new show, "I have after effects now", pikmin, a special project with a celebrity client...which may or may not happen, recreating my college thesis into a published book(?!?), money, business failures, and what's coming next here on the deciduous tier!

Matt!!! :'-D Reading that first bit about what your grandpa said gave me chills. It's true, and he's right. It's definitely a nice reminder to hear--and I'll be remembering it for a lot of other instances in my life, as well. Also hugely honored that you're considering putting my art next to Yvan Duque's??!! I think you're completely right about the environment. I took notice of that, myself. I'm thinking of implementing that more as I possibly move forward with more monthly paintings. Thanks agin for your help, both in our chat on instagram and here. <3 You are such a joy.

I grew up with my grandpa saying "what's for you, won't go by you" and I use that to ground myself in letting go of my own expectations for how I approach projects and life - like it's a bummer to hear you were so excited about this project and it fell through, but please don't think that in any way reflects any of your abilities as a professional artist - it just wasn't for the project and honestly I'm excited to get a wee glimpse of what you will make in place of what could have possibly been another job, hopefully you take a breather and work on something, collaborate and put that energy elsewhere. with em prints tho - they were so sick Jamie!! honestly don't sweat too much over it! I've actually been eyeing up one of the still available ones as it would compliment another original by Yven Duque - so I'm v much interested in it when I next get paid!! I did notice (not to dig too deep into things) but the main difference between the two postcards that sold and the others was that the ones that are still available actually don't have much of an environmental narrative - whereas the others do - you are such an interesting world builder and it felt like the postcards that sold had more of a space curated for them on the page n' think that's why I was more invested in those pieces - personally feel that even more of a hint towards these characters spaces could push them further 'out there' you know? apologies for any unwanted opinions, but wanted to share n' say I really do not think it is price related. anyway, thank you for crafting this little space out in your corner of the digital world - v much appreciate being here and being able to delve into the wealth of content that shows your practice ミ☆
