Two Illustration Timelapses: Procreate + Riso Brushes!

Hello my hot summer sausages, I'm here with a patron request: a procreate video timelapse of two out of the four editorial illustrations I did for TOWN Carolina magazine. Thank you to those of you who asked how I used the Tip Top Riso brushes--I always like to know what you're curious about and that helps me to put out relevant content. :-)

A couple things to note here: I don't start using the riso brushes up until the middle of the first illustration around 1:20 in the video. Everything previous is a combo of my regular brush rotation (6B Pencil, stucco paint, grainy brush, dry ink brush, a few noise/splatter brushes, Plimsol and MaxU Charcoal sketch). When I'm rendering the water that the fly fisher is standing in is when I started to test out those riso brushes for the first time and start to get the hang of them as I go.

A tip that I can elaborate on is that I like to put a matte white layer down before colors when using the riso brushes--you see this especially in the second illustration with the skin of the tubers and the rocks.

In the second illustration, it seems to come to a point of completion and then suddenly get some major changes. This is because I sent the first rendition to the client and they asked me to change multiple things, hence the final product looking a lot different (figures being smaller and in shadow, flattening of the background textures, more monochrome color scheme, less complex sky, etc).

And lastly, my fun fact is that I'm using Japanese breakfast as our soundtrack today because I am seeing them in concert on Friday! Baby's first concert! Wow!
